These days, Ajith Kumar’s Asal happens to be making more sensation across the tinsel town. Of course, there is news stating that Bollywood’s Superstar Shahrukh Khan will be performing a cameo role. Earlier Ajith had performed in Shahrukh Khan’s Asoka. So this would in essence be like returning a favour. Sameera Reddy and Bhavana are the heroines in this movie. The film’s shooting is reaching fast towards completion, as director Saran plans to release the film for Diwali.

Meanwhile, here’s great news for all ardent fans of Ultimate Star Ajith Kumar. Russian Union of Cinematography and Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries have signed an agreement on promoting South Indian Films in Russia. Chennai has signed and it has been confirmed that Ajith Kumar’s Asal will be the first South Indian Film to be released in Russian language. The film will hit the screens in Russia on the same day as the universal release. Apart from this, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi too will be dubbed and released later by 2010.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s ambitious project ‘Kaminey’ has been awarded an ‘A’ certificate by the censor board.

The examining committee reportedly saw the flick on Tuesday and suggested some major cuts as they felt that the film was just too violent. When Vishal refused to either go for chopping his scenes or accept an ‘A’ certificate, the revising committee with Sharmila Tagore as the Chairperson watched it with a panel of members in Delhi yesterday afternoon. The committee, however, gave an ‘A’ certificate again.

The production house, on the other hand, defends the violence in the film saying that they have already made some cuts and the abusive language used in the film is marginal. As the film is based on the underworld, violence and darkness is but naturally felt in the movie.

Well, the ball is in Vishal’s court now and he has to decide whether he will move to the higher courts or settle down with the censor board’s decision.

Himesh Reshammiya underwent a vocal surgery to add another voice to his singing kitty.

A source close to Himesh says, “Himesh wanted to do something different and after numerous experiments with his looks and his hair, he recently had an operation for his vocal chords. Apart from his nasal voice, he has now added a different voice which is a base middle octave. This way, he will have two distinct voices and anybody who identifies him with his style will never be able to say that the other voice is also his. The surgery happened in South Africa when he was shooting for Kajraare and it took close to two hours. It is a closely guarded secret and Himesh doesn’t want anyone to know about it.”

“This new voice will be heard in all his forthcoming films – Ishk Unplugged, Radio, Kajraare and A New Love Isshtory. The strategy is that Himesh will perform live at the music release of Radio a few weeks down the line where he will sing in his new voice. The voice is extremely good and the songs that he has recorded are sure to work with his fans.”

However Himesh remained unavailable to confirm the news.
