Surya’s Ayan completing 100 days
Surya’s Ayan directed by K.V.Anand is completing 100 days run today in four Chennai screens. It is not only the biggest hit in the career of Surya but also 2009’s first blockbuster, that will do business worth Rs 45 to 50 crore worldwide from theatricals and other rights.
It is an open secret that Surya is the clear number one star in Kollywood and commands a huge opening especially in Chennai City, Chengalpet (Chennai suburbs) and Coimbatore.

Sources also say that Ayan has taken a share of Rs 4.05 Crore from Chennai, the third highest share for a Tamil film in the city.
At number one position and the record holder is Superstar Rajinikanth’s Sivaji – The Boss, with Rs 6.85 crore share, and in the second position is ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Hassan’s Dasavatharam with Rs 5. 60 crore!
If Rajini is “the Emperor” and Kamal “the King”, then we can call Surya “the Prince” of Chennai Box Office!
