It was speculated that Katrina Kaif will play the lead opposite super star Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan. Now, daughter and director Soundarya Rajinikanth has confirmed that it will be Deepika Padukone pairing up with her dad. One would remember that Deepika was roped in for Rana last year but the project was halted after Rajini’s ill health. He was hospitalized and regained after few months of medication in India and abroad.

Now Rana has been put on hold and Soundarya Rajinikanth decided to direct Kochadaiyaan with her dad playing the lead role. KS Ravi Kumar, the director of Rana, is penning the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film; who will also assist Soundarya in this project.
