Director Gautham Menon is very happy over his film being selected for the National award under the Best Tamil film category. The director, who dedicates the award to the Vaaranam Aayiram unit, said, “I am particularly thankful to the film’s hero Suriya who crafted both his roles superbly. I am also thankful to Sameera Reddy, Divya Spandana, cinematographer Rathnavelu and music director Harris Jayaraj.”

This is the first time Gautham Menon has received an award though he had directed superhit films like Minnale, Kakka Kakka and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu. This is his first and prestigious award. According to him, all those who have been associated with his films have won several awards, but this is the first time for him.

Remember the Mile Sur Mera Tumhara that was first witnessed in the year 1988. Now the anthem is back again to celebrate New India and has transformed into Phir Mile Sur.

Phir Mile Sur features heroes like Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Big B and other Young Indian icons including sports and music icons.

A press meet was organized by the director of the upcoming film Goa. The director Venkat Prabhu shared some interesting details about his film. When questioned about the inspiration behind his film Goa, he pointed his finger at Sampath Raj who figures in almost all of Venkat’s films.

Sampath who hails from Bengaluru often travels to Goa and he has shared many of his interesting travel experiences with Venkat Prabhu which led the director to add the apt ingredients, spice them up and deliver as Goa.

The film has been given an ‘A’ certification by the censor board. Sneha’s role will be that of a suspense genre. Sun TV has bought the rights of Goa. Venkat Prabhu also added that his entire team is fun loving kind and he has translated this mood onto Goa also.

Goa will hit the screens on 29th January, 2010.
