Rahul Mahajan’s hunt for a perfect bride came to an end with the reality show as the star picked up the Bengali girl Dimpy Ganguly to tie the knot in true bollywood style.

Rahul chose the 21-year old Dimpy who is a model and dancer over Nikunj Malik and Harpreet Chhabra on TV show Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega.

Mahajan, who has had a troubled past with drug abuse charges and an acrimonious marriage and divorce from childhood friend Shweta Singh, hopes that it is a “happily ever after” for him.

The Bengali-style wedding was held in a luxurious Mumbai suburban hotel and the couple wore outfits designed by famous fashion designers Ashley Rebello, Neeta Lulla and Vikram Phadnis.

The 34-year-old, Rahul, who’s facing drug abuse charges, had requested a Delhi court for releasing his passport so that his wife and he could spend their honeymoon in Maldives.

There is a strong buzz going around that Dimpy Ganguly is the girl Rahul Mahajan has finalized as his bride. Dimpy in her last interaction with the media said “I am very excited yet nervous at the same time. I am really looking forward to the results.”

Sources say that “Dimpy is more than confident that she will be Rahul’s bride and has already sent invitation to family and friends asking them to be present at the venue”. Another source adds, “I am amongst Dimpy’s invitees for the wedding and am making my preparations for the big night”.

In fact so strong is the chemistry between Rahul and Dimpy that apparently co-contender Nikunj Malik wanted to quit the show few days back. Nikunj did not like the fact that Rahul was getting close to Dimpy and could not see this happening before her eyes. “ Mera to vishwas hi dagmaga gaya (my trust has shaken)”, she was last heard saying.

The third girl Harpreet Chhabbra, a 21-year-old model and anchor, is nervous and merely says “I hope Rahul’s decision is in my favour.”

The girls have wooed Rahul in every possible way during the show, leaving behind 14 contestants. Over 16,500 women applied to be on the show.

The wedding will take place in a luxurious suburban hotel in Mumbai where the who’s who of society will grace the occasion to shower their blessings on the couple.

Ace designers Vikram Phadnis, Neeta Lulla and Ashley Rebello will dress up Rahul’s brides-to-be.

Rahul, who ended his marriage with childhood friend Shweta Singh in 2008, has planned to go to the Maldives and Ireland for his honeymoon, if a court which is holding his passport allows him to do so. He is facing charges of using banned drugs.

Director Mani Ratnam is one who will be affected by the Ranjitha-Nithyananda sex scandal. The actress plays an important role in the Mani directed Ravan. Ever since the video made its way to the television channels and news papers, the actress has been absconding.

The Ravan unit, which is gearing up to release the film during the summer holidays, is now in a fix. Apparently, a few scenes involving the actress need to be shot, and this issue has the team in jitters, as Ranjitha remains untraceable.
