There is good news for all Asin fans. After being seen in Ghajini, she would be seen in Dasavatharam which releases next Friday. Though the Tamil version was released worldwide in June last year, the dubbed Hindi version is arriving after a gap of nearly a year. Interestingly, Asin has a double role to play in the film. She plays a woman from both the 12th century as well as the 21st century. Incidentally, in both the roles, she plays a Brahmin woman. The hero of the film is Kamal Hassan who plays as many as ten different roles in the film. Another female lead in the film is Mallika Sherawat.

Reports had stated that Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena was not keen on working with Asin despite having a three-film deal.

“I was shocked when I first learnt about the news. In fact, I don’t sign such contracts with any filmmaker,” the actress told. “Madhu later called me to explain that he was misinterpreted by the media,” Asin, who made her Bollywood debut with Ghajini, said.

The actress said Ghajini had given her an opportunity to showcase her skills in front of national audience.

“While, I have worked in the southern film industry, my Hindi film debut has helped me reach national audience,” she said.

Asin will be next seen in Vipul Shah’s London Dreams opposite actors Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan. The actress has also signed an Indo-Japanese multi-lingual film 19 Steps with actor-director Kamal Hassan.

Tamil super star Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti is the next pretty star to be launched in Bollywood. She’s making her Bollywood debut this year in Sohum Shah’s ‘Luck’ with young sensation Imran Khan.

But Shruti’s ain’t taking too many tips from daddy dearest, in spite of the fact that he’s considered one of the finest actors in showbiz. She’s said, “He’s never been one to advise me too much. I think the one tip he gave me was that it’s your life and you have to make the decisions which count for you the most.”

She’s added, “Nobody expects to be either a Kamal Hasan or a Sarika from your very first day and I didn’t expect that of myself either.” But having Imran Khan as a buddy has been a blessing for the new kid on the block.

She’s said, “We’ve known each other for a while so it’s a blessing to work with somebody you are comfortable with and can relate to. I think it’s been a wonderful experience overall.”

And acting is not the only thing she’s concentrating on. She also has her favorite singing to fall back on.

She’s also said, “I’m playing a whole bunch of gigs, and me and my band is having a whole load of fun, we have our strengths and we are just taking it from there. And we are going to get into the studio soon and record our first album.”
